The latest offerings from OnePlus include three models, two of which belong to the U-series — priced considerably on the lower end, while the third falls in the slightly higher-end of the spectrum. Called the OnePlus TV 32Y1, 43Y1, and 55U1, the numeral in the name specifies the screen-size for the three models. Amongst the three models, the top-of-the-line OnePlus TV 55U1 features a 4K display, while the 43Y1 comes with Full-HD panel and the 32Y1 having an HD-ready display.
OnePlus TV U-series (55U1)
The 55-inch model from OnePlus comes with a sleek metal chassis and aluminum alloy, with a carbon fiber texture material covering the body to offer a premium finish. On the lower side, the TV has a thick compartment to hold up the motherboard and other important elements like the I/O and speakers. Moving to the front, there is a 55-inch 4K LED panel (yet to confirm) that offers a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Moreover, it supports 93% of DCI-P3 color gamut and also comes with Dolby Vision and HDR 10/10+. Besides, the TV includes what the company calls, Gamma Engine, which claims to optimize the colors and offer a better visual experience. In addition, it also enables MEMC and anti-aliasing.
Under the hood, the OnePlus TV 55U1 runs on a quad-core MediaTek MT5887 chipset, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The TV provides 30W speakers with Dolby Atmos sound. Moreover, it also includes a smart remote, which comes with dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Prime Video, and Netflix. The TV also gets OnePlus’ content-discovery platform, Oxygen Play. In addition, it also brings support for Oxygen Connect, which lets you control the TV using your Android or iOS smartphone.
OnePlus TV Y-series (43Y1 and 32Y1)
Moving to the more affordable options, the OnePlus TV Y-series that includes the 43Y1 and 32Y1 come with a somewhat similar design (except for the bezels), and offers Full HD and HD-ready resolution, respectively. In addition, both models also get the Gamma Engine, anti-aliasing, and noise-reduction features similar to the high-end 55U1 model. However, they do lack the MEMC feature.
At the core, both 43Y1 and 32Y1 run on an unnamed processor, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The two share the same 20W speaker system that comes with support for Dolby Audio. And similar to the U-series, the Y-series models also get the Oxygen Play content-discovery platform, along with Oxygen Connect.
