Too good to be true? Well it is. The price tag of Rs 501 is if you’re lucky enough to be chosen in the flash sale, else the phone is priced at Rs 8,000. [Now you know why we have the * next to the price in the title!]
First and foremost, let’s get the specifications out of the way, the ChampOne C1 (get it?) features a 5-inch HD IPS panel up front and is powered by an MT6735 Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz. Furthermore, there’s 2GB of RAM, 2500mAh battery with Quick Charge (we assume they mean 2.1A fast charging here), and 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB via a MicroSD card. The phone supports Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, offers an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing one. Additionally, ChampOne C1 also carries a fingerprint scanner on the back.

ChampOne is now taking registrations for the upcoming flash sales on September 2nd through which you’ll possibly be able to buy C1 at a bargain price of Rs 501 (if luck permits. In fact, the website is already having technical issues, so not sure how well prepared they will be for the actual sale). Otherwise, the handset is priced at Rs 8,000. For registering, you’ll need to head over to Cham1India website and log in on the day of flash sales for unveiling the offer. Thankfully, Cash On Delivery is available. In our opinion, though, this is nothing but a marketing manoeuvre for luring the required publicity. Schemes like these have never succeeded in the past, nor they’ll at this time. As far as the native price tag is concerned, there are much better options available in the market. Tread carefully.
