Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro: Design and Display
Oppo is taking a different approach altogether with the all-new Find X2 and X2 Pro. Unlike Find X, which came with a retractable module, the newer smartphones rather follow the hole-punch design as can be seen adopted by some of the other manufacturers to offer a larger screen estate. While the Find X2 comes with a Glass and Ceramic back, the X2 Pro offers Ceramic and Vegan Leather finish. Towards the front, both smartphones come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that comes with QHD+ resolution and offers a 120Hz refresh rate along with a 240Hz touch sample rate. The display comes with HDR10+ and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support and also includes Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 protection on top.
Performance: Rocking the latest processor
In terms of performance, both the X2 and X2 Pro come equipped with the Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU, which is the latest offering from Qualcomm. The handsets come with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB (Find X2) or 512GB (Find X2 Pro) of UFS 3.0 storage. To power the internals, there is a 4200mAh battery on the regular Find X2 and an ever so slightly bigger 4260 mAh battery on the Pro variant. However, despite that change, both devices offer the same 65W SuperVooc 2.0 fast charging and are compatible with 18W USB-PD. Oppo says the SuperVOOC 2.0 can fully charge the battery in just 38 minutes. Among other things, both smartphones come with an under-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, and NFC support. For connectivity, there is support for 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, and Bluetooth 5.1. On the software front, the devices run on ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 out of the box.
Camera: Custom Sensor from Sony
For optics, the two handsets come with a triple-camera setup on the rear, however, they do have a few differences in terms of specifications. For starters, the regular Find X2 comes with a 48MP primary (Sony IMX586) sensor with f/1.7 aperture, accompanied by a 12MP secondary 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 13MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture with up to 20x digital zoom. On the other hand, the X2 Pro includes a 48MP (Sony IMX689) sensor with f/1.7 aperture, along with a 48MP secondary 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 13MP telephoto lens with f/3.0 aperture with up to 20x hybrid optical zoom, up to 60x digital zoom. Coming to the front, both smartphones come with the same 32MP camera, housed within the hole-punch cutout on the top left, for selfies.
