One of the worst kept secrets in the recent history of gadgets, Samsung Galaxy tab (GT-P1000) was officially unveiled today at IFA 2010 in Berlin, Germany. This is the first tablet which comes close to be a competitor for Apple’s iPad and definitely the best Android tablet out there in the market currently. Running on Android 2.2 Froyo, Galaxy tab will also offer Multitouch web browsing, including HTML5 and Adobe Flash, email, voice and video calling and all other apps provided by Android market. Weighing 380g, the device is based on Samsung’s Galaxy S smartphone and is designed to be used in one hand. Much like the iPad, the Galaxy Tab also includes an ebook reading application, call the “Readers Hub”. Powered by Kobo, PressDisplay, Zinio and others, Samsung claims more than 2 million books, over 2,500 magazines in 20 languages and more than 1,600 newspapers in 47 languages will be available at launch.
