Bit.ly is arguably the best and most complete service amongst the over-crowded URL Shorteners. Like me, if you are a fan of Bitly and often use it to shorten links and then track its performance, here is a really useful tiny tip which you gonna love. Most of the Twitter clients these days come with Bit.ly integrated by default, but not all. So the easiest way to shorten a link you like to share is to enter “j.mp/” or “bit.ly/” before the address of the page you’re on and Bitly will then automatically shorten it for you.
What more? This trick works on mobile browsers too! If you are logged into bit.ly and it’s integrated with your twitter account, you can tweet right off the page it refers to. The trick is a real time saver for me and the magnificent analytics which comes with bit.ly makes me use their service even more!
