Vivo NEX 3: Design and Display
The Vivo NEX 3 features a 6.89-inch full HD curved AMOLED display with 2256 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and HDR 10. Vivo calls this, ‘Waterfall FullView’ display and claims it offers a 99.6% screen-to-body ratio. The interesting thing about the display is that it extends all the way to the edges to give a bigger screen estate to enjoy content on the phone. However, there is a downside to this. Since the display extends to the sides, it takes away the space to accommodate the physical buttons. So, to deal with this, Vivo has used virtual buttons, called ‘Touch Sense’ which work alongside the haptic feedback system.
Vivo NEX 3: Performance
At its core, the NEX 3 (both 4G and 5G variant) comes with a 7nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with Adreno 640 GPU running under the hood, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It runs on Funtouch OS 9.1 based on Android 9.0 Pie and has a 4500mAh battery with 44W fast charging.
Vivo NEX 3: Camera
For optics, the NEX 3 sports a triple camera setup on its rear in a circular ‘Lunar Ring’ module design, with a 64MP Samsung GW1 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 13MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture, with LED flash. On the front, it has a 16MP pop-up selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, for selfies. The pop-up camera design allows the phone to extend its display to the edges and achieve a 99.6% screen-to-body ratio.
