The leaked banner reveals that the Xiaomi Mi 5X comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display. It would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa core processor and 4GB RAM. Rumors further suggest that Xiaomi will be launching a high-end variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5X. This will boast a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip and a 6GB RAM. Besides, it will come with 64GB of native storage.
Is Xiaomi Mi 5X the alleged Mi X1?
The rumored specs of the Xiaomi Mi 5X corresponds with those speculated for the Xiaomi X1. A close look at the partially leaked image of the Mi 5X makes things even more clear. The Xiaomi Mi 5X is indeed the alleged Mi X1. It also signifies that the upcoming Mi 5X may be Xiaomi’s first device under its new offline specific sub-brand, rumored to be named Lanmi, which would make the device being named Lanmi X1. The Xiaomi Mi 5X ad banner further points at the presence of the dual rear camera setup. Previous leaks coming from China suggested the presence of a 12MP + 5MP dual rear shooter. That aside, it is expected to come with a 16MP selfie shooter. The upper mid-range smartphone will also rock a front facing fingerprint scanner. It will run on Android Nougat 7.1 with MIUI 9 on top. Interestingly, the leaked smartphone bears a design that’s reminiscent of the Oppo R11 and the OnePlus 5. At least, the placement of the dual camera setup and the antenna bands make us believe so. Needless to say that the higher end variant of the Mi 5X with Snapdragon 660 will face direct competition from the Oppo R11.
