The Mi Rabbit, that’s now available on Xiaomi’s own crowdfunding portal, is basically a compact tracking device that can be carried around in a pocket. The device seems to be primarily aimed at children to help their family members track their movements on the go. That said, this device may be of use for ladies too, especially in a country like India; where women safety is still a critical issue. The Mi Rabbit apparently utilizes GPS and GLONASS positioning system to locate the user carrying the device with an accuracy of up to 5 meters. One can also turn on the tracking mode by default wherein you can track the device in real time, using an app. But that’s surely going to take a toll on the battery life. With tracking continuously turned on, the Mi Rabbit will deliver a company claimed battery life of 1 day. The standby time of the Mi Rabbit however, is around 10 days.
The Mi Rabbit comes with support for two-way voice calling and can store a total of 20 contacts on the device. You can easily switch between contact by clicking on the function key. Apart from that the tracking device from Xiaomi also features WiFi and a Gravity Sensor.
The compact tracking device comes only in White color and can now be ordered in China for 169 Yuan (Rs 1,700/$25.34 approx.) via the official crowdfunding platform. Just in case you are unaware, this is the same platform from which you can order various other Mijia products including Mi Pen, Mi Washing Machine, Mi Yeelight etc.
